The 15 Best Wedding Venues in Tuscany

Villa Corsini
Best for: Large weddings (up to 220) with easy access to Florence
Villa Corsini combines frescoed interiors and expansive outdoor terraces with one of the highest guest capacities in Chianti. Its proximity to Florence makes logistics easy for international guests flying in, while the authentic historic character keeps the setting from feeling like an event hotel. The right choice when you need scale without sacrificing Tuscan soul.
Villa Monaciano
Best for: Exclusive vineyard buy-out near Siena for intimate groups
Set among working vineyards just outside Siena, Villa Monaciano offers a genuinely immersive wine estate experience. The buy-out model means the entire property is yours – no other guests, no shared spaces. With onsite lodging for 25 and additional accommodation nearby for 80 more, it’s built for a multi-day celebration where guests arrive, settle in and never want to leave.

Villa Medicea di Lilliano
Best for: Historic Florentine grandeur with the most dramatic city views
A Medici-era estate with centuries of Florentine history within its walls, Villa Medicea di Lilliano offers arguably the finest panoramic views toward Florence of any venue in this guide – a backdrop that transforms at golden hour. With capacity for 200 guests and accommodation for 12, it suits larger celebrations where most guests stay locally rather than on-site.
Villa Catignano
Best for: Full property buy-out with exceptional guest accommodation for its price
Villa Catignano’s real strength is its flexibility: with accommodation for up to 86 guests on a 4-night buy-out, it’s one of the few Tuscan venues where nearly your entire guest list can sleep on-site. The Chianti DOC setting means excellent local wine is part of the experience. At €23,000 for the whole property in 2026, the value per guest is exceptional for this level of estate.

Villa Pitiana
Best for: Nature-first couples wanting a forest retreat near Florence
Tucked into the wooded hills above the Valdarno valley, Villa Pitiana has a different character from Chianti’s open vineyard estates – shaded terraces, lush forest and a wilder, more atmospheric feel. With up to 70 guests accommodated on-site and capacity for 150, it suits couples who want their wedding to feel like a retreat rather than a grand production.
Villa Il Cerretino
Best for: Grand weddings needing the highest capacity in the Florence area
With space for up to 250 guests, Villa Il Cerretino offers the largest capacity of any villa on this list. The architecture is formal and elegant – symmetrical facades, manicured grounds and ballroom-scale interiors – making it a natural fit for couples planning a classic, large-scale Italian celebration within easy reach of Florence.

Villa Valentini Bonaparte
Best for: Understated elegance away from the tourist trail, near Arezzo
Villa Valentini Bonaparte has a distinctly unhurried character – no grand gestures, just beautiful historic architecture and a deep sense of calm. It feels like a private estate discovered through a trusted friend rather than a curated venue, which is exactly its appeal. Ideal for couples who find the more famous Siena-area villas too exposed or too busy.
Villa Nemora
Best for: Rustic-chic style with outstanding on-site accommodation for nearly all guests
Villa Nemora’s standout quality is its accommodation ratio: with 58 beds for up to 100 guests, almost your entire party can sleep on-site – rare at this price point. The seasonal pricing (from €13,500 for 3 nights in low season) makes it one of the better-value options on this list without compromising on atmosphere or setting.

Tenuta Corbinaia
Best for: Wine-lovers wanting an authentic working estate in the heart of Chianti DOC
Tenuta Corbinaia is a genuine working farmhouse surrounded by 40 hectares of vines and olive groves – not a villa dressed up as an estate, but the real thing. The per-day pricing (€5,900–€7,900) gives flexibility for shorter celebrations, and with 16 beds on-site it suits couples who prefer a small core group staying on the estate itself.
La Pescaia Resort
Best for: Multi-day wellness celebrations with a unique sustainable touch
La Pescaia stands apart in one specific way: guests can cut flowers directly from the resort’s own flower farm for the wedding décor – a genuinely rare touch in Tuscany. The Maremma location, away from the tourist crowds of Siena and Chianti, gives it a more relaxed, local feel. With accommodation for 36 and a wellness-focused atmosphere, it rewards couples planning a full immersive experience.

Castello di Ristonchi
Best for: A genuine medieval castle experience with large group accommodation
Castello di Ristonchi is one of the few venues in Tuscany that feels like an actual castle rather than a villa with towers added on. Medieval stone walls, a woodland setting near Pelago and accommodation for up to 80 guests make it ideal for multi-day celebrations where immersion in the setting is the whole point. The all-inclusive packages simplify planning for couples organising from abroad.
Agriturismo Terre di Nano
Best for: Intimate micro-weddings (max. 70 guests) in the UNESCO Val d’Orcia landscape
Terre di Nano sits in Montichiello, right in the heart of the Val d’Orcia – the UNESCO-listed landscape of cypress-lined roads and rolling hills that defines the Tuscany most couples first picture when they start dreaming. With a maximum of 70 guests and transparent exclusive-use pricing (€6,000/night, 2-night minimum), it’s the most scenically iconic and deliberately intimate location on this list.

Tenuta San Ottaviano
Best for: Large celebrations needing the most on-site beds of any venue in this guide
Tenuta San Ottaviano’s defining feature is simple: 114 beds. For larger weddings where having all guests in one place matters – no hotel shuttles, no coordinating check-ins across multiple properties – this is the most practical solution in Chianti. The classic Tuscan estate setting delivers everything you’d expect from the region, with none of the logistical headaches.
Villa di Geggiano
Best for: Elegant garden ceremonies in the classic Chianti heartland
Villa di Geggiano is perhaps the most quintessentially Chianti estate on this list – classic Tuscan architecture, formal Italian gardens, vineyards as far as the eye can see. With capacity for 180 guests but only 10 beds on-site, it suits couples planning a single-day celebration with guests staying in nearby agriturismo or hotels. The gardens are the real draw here.

Foto: © Villa Cetinale
Villa Cetinale
Best for: Exclusive, small celebrations at the most iconic baroque estate in Tuscany
Often called the most beautiful villa in Tuscany, Villa Cetinale near Siena is a 17th-century baroque masterpiece with sculpted gardens, ancient cypress walks and a setting that feels genuinely timeless. With just 25 beds and a maximum of 100 outdoor guests it stays deliberately exclusive – this is not a venue for large productions. The weekly hire (€27,000–€62,000 depending on season) reflects both its rarity and its reputation.

FAQ – Getting Married in Tuscany
1. How far in advance should you book a wedding venue in Tuscany?
Most exclusive wedding venues in Tuscany are booked 12–18 months in advance, especially for peak dates like May, June and September.
For iconic villas or Saturdays, availability can be even more limited. If you’re flexible with your date, weekday weddings or shoulder season, you may still find exceptional venues within 6–12 months.
2. Do you need a wedding planner in Tuscany?
While not legally required, hiring a wedding planner in Tuscany is highly recommended for destination weddings.
A local planner helps coordinate vendors, manage timelines, handle logistics and navigate language or regional specifics — especially for multi-day celebrations.
3. How much does a wedding in Tuscany cost?
Most destination weddings in Tuscany typically range between €40,000 and €80,000+, with luxury multi-day celebrations often reaching €80,000 to €140,000+.
Key cost factors include venue rental, accommodation, guest count, catering and the overall wedding weekend experience.
4. What is the best time of year to get married in Tuscany?
The best time to get married in Tuscany is usually May–June and September–early October, offering warm weather, beautiful landscapes and a comfortable guest experience.
5. What is the best time of day for a wedding ceremony in Tuscany?
For the most flattering and cinematic light, ceremonies are best scheduled 2–3 hours before sunset.
This creates softer tones, more natural skin colors and a more relaxed atmosphere compared to harsh midday light.
6. How much does a wedding photographer in Tuscany cost?
Wedding photography in Tuscany typically ranges from €4,500 to €7,500+ for full-day coverage, with high-end editorial photographers and multi-day weddings often exceeding that range.
Good to know about Tuscany Weddings

Many villas and rural estates have strict rules on amplified music (often requiring music to move indoors and/or end around midnight, sometimes earlier depending on location and neighbors). If you want a longer party, choose a venue with a proven late-night setup, plan an indoor dance option, and build the timeline so the most energetic part of the evening happens before the cutoff.
To legally marry in Italy, foreign couples need specific documents like a valid passport, birth certificate, and a “Nulla Osta” – a certificate confirming that there are no legal impediments to marriage. An experienced planner who specializes in weddings in Tuscany or destination weddings in Italy can be a huge support here! Keep in mind: iconic places like the Abbazia San Galgano, while visually stunning, are not consecrated and therefore not available for church weddings.
Tuscany is surprisingly accessible. If you’re flying in, Florence and Pisa airports are your best options. But to reach many hidden Tuscan wedding venues, I highly recommend renting a car – especially as many beautiful villages and wedding locations in Tuscany are nestled in the hills and not directly connected to major transport hubs. From cities like Munich, you can reach Tuscany by car via the Brennero Pass in about 7 hours. Alternatively, traveling by train is also an option; Florence’s central station has great connections throughout the region.
