A intimate wedding reportage in san gimignano, tuscany
Early October I went on my Italy Trip down to San Gimignano in the Hills of Tuscany for the intimate wedding of Johanna & Christian. They both had the dream of a very small destination wedding with only the closest friends & people around them. Together with the Tuscany Wedding Planner Claudia from Glory Days Weddings we create a magical wedding weekend they never forget.
Tenuta Quadrifoglio managed to be the perfect place for their intimate & relaxed tuscan wedding weekend. We start the Weekend with a little get together at Osteria del Castagno with some tuscan food and celebrate their wedding on saturday with a perfect wedding in the tuscan hills!

WEDDING AT TENUTA QUADRIFOGLIO
Johanna & Christian started their wedding day in Tuscany in a very relaxed way. We started with Christian getting ready. The groom’s friends made themselves comfortable with a few beers and so the atmosphere was already very good in the morning. After we had finally tied the tie after the 5th attempt, we went out to the pool for a few portraits with Christian before we continued towards JOhanna. She had already had a hearty breakfast in the room with her sister & mum and Elena was already in full swing for the styling! You wouldn’t believe how quickly time often flies and so in the end it was a bit tight – but as so often with a lot of calm & composure there was no rush!
While Christian & all the guests were already waiting for us in the cathedral of San Gimignano, I made my way from the Tenuta towards the cathedral together with Johanna, her sister & her mum. By now you could tell that the calmness of the two of them was turning into nervousness – but that’s what makes every wedding different for me, because everyone reacts differently.
Frank, the deacon, made the wedding ceremony in the Duomo a unique experience for both of them! The right words, the perfect musical accompaniment from the strings & not least the perfectly planned setting by Claudia made it absolutely harmonious. The couple were not only welcomed by their guests but also by hundreds of tourists and locals waiting on the forecourt. You could see that they were a little overwhelmed by the crowds at first, but then realised how lucky they were.
Johanna & Christian made sure to stop by the most famous ice cream maker in Tuscany and treat themselves to 2 scoops of ice cream – absolutely deserved after this wonderful & unique wedding ceremony. Together with the two of them, I made my way through the wonderful historic centre of San Gimignano, discovering secluded alleyways & wonderful views in the Manhattan of Tuscany.
While the guests were already waiting for us back at the Tenuta, everything was already being set up for the extensive snack buffet in the afternoon – the Tuscan cuisine is incredible and it felt like there would have been enough food for three times as many guests. Characterised by the fantastic weather, great guests and the unique atmosphere, we rounded off the day with a short photo shoot at sunset before we were all able to shake a leg to the hits of DJ Diamante.
